Dan Redmond

Dan became Director, Campus Community Police Services on January 1, 2017 after more than 30 years of progressive experience across the province with the Ontario Provincial Police. He is responsible for all aspects of operations of Campus Community Police Services, Fire Safety and Emergency Management, and Foot Patrol. Campus Police at Western is the only University law enforcement organization to receive accreditation in Canada.

Dan Holds the Ontario Police Exemplary Medal, the Thirty-Year Exemplary Service Award and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Team Size: Campus Police has a staff of 26, Fire Safety has 4 staff, and Foot Patrol has 1 coordinator. Foot patrol and building evacuation teams are assisted by 500 student and employee volunteers.  

Key Clients:  Students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Main Services:  Campus Police provides a 24/7, 365 day service in safety & security to all aspects of campus life. Through criminal and general investigations we constantly safeguard the campus community by foot, bicycle, vehicle patrols and emergency response.  We are also responsible for fire safety, emergency management and foot patrol.
