I am in my second year of studies towards an Honors Specialization in Health Sciences with a Biochemistry Minor at the University of Western Ontario. I started volunteering in the Gan/O’Gorman lab in the Fall of 2005. The following summer, I was awarded a CHIR studentship to continue my work in the lab. At present, my task is to examine the role of the extracellular matrix environment in Dupuytren’s Disease. I am developing an in-vitro model to study dysregulated extracellular proteins associated with this disease. After completing my undergraduate studies, I plan on applying to the MD/PhD program to integrate my two goals of being a researcher and a medical doctor.
