Description: |
In support of Canada?s Small Modular Reactor Action Plan, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) is partnering with NRCan to fund research on SMRs. Proposed research projects must address at least one of the research objectives specific to the SMR technologies being pursued in Canada (consult Canada's SMR Action Plan for further guidance). |

Application Details: |
University researchers must first contact NRCan to discuss their proposed research project and obtain approval to submit an application to NSERC. Invited eligible university researchers may apply for an Alliance grant with a duration of 1 to 4 years.
NRCan must be included in your application as a partner organization.
Applications must be submitted via NSERC's online system. Following the instructions for completing an Alliance grant application.

NOTE: All research-related grant applications, letters of intent, contracts and agreements requiring an institutional or organizational signature must submit related documents to the Office of Research Services for review and approval. Requests for institutional signature should be received a minimum of five to ten business days before the
posted Sponsor deadline. Please see Western Research's website regarding the institutional signatory process for more details. Specific opportunities may have their own timelines and requirements for submissions. A ROLA Proposal submitted by the PI and bearing department and faculty approvals is required. |
