The Neilsen Foundation funds projects that are designed to improve and advance the current treatment for acute and chronic spinal cord dysfunction. The Neilsen Foundation does not intend to provide continuous funding to individual labs but to fund novel research throughout the translational spectrum. The SCIRTS Grants program supports research projects that include, but are not limited to, the following areas: Mechanistic Research Studies, Preclinical, Translational Research Studies, Clinical Research. Full application by invitation only following successful LOI.
Funding is as follows:
SCIRTS Postdoctoral Fellowship Grant - $100,000/yr for two years
SCIRTS Pilot Research Grant - $200,000/yr for two years
SCIRTS Senior Research Grant - $300,000/yr for three years |

All SCIRTS funding categories require an LOI submission for a given grant cycle. Only Principal Investigators/Fellows invited through the most recent LOI process may submit an FGA for that grant cycle. The Craig H. Neilsen Foundation uses proposalCENTRAL (https://proposalCENTRAL.altum.com) to review and manage all of its grants. All information for the application must be submitted via proposalCENTRAL.
