Brain Canada is dedicated to promoting and funding research collaboration on a national scale. Recognizing that neurological and / or psychiatric disease is one of the three major health afflictions of Canadians, along with cancer and cardiovascular disease, Brain Canada seeks to bring private philanthropy together with public funds in support of major research advances to address neurological disorders in all their forms. The partnership leverages all donated dollars via partnerships.

Brain Canada is partnering in a joint-funding initiative with the Huntington Society of Canada that aims to create Huntington disease (HD) Clinician-Scientist-to-Patient Virtual Networks: inter-connected clinicians, researchers, and HD patients. The intent is to ensure ongoing collaborations focused on expediting the discovery-to-effective-treatment cycle in humans in order to slow or prevent HD and other relevant neurodegenerative diseases.
