The goal of the Welcoming Communities Initiative is to conduct collaborative research across communities and sectors in areas relevant to immigrant and minority settlement and integration in Ontario.

n order to assist and encourage WCI members to secure funding (through grants, contracts, etc) and to expand their research, WCI will provide seed funding of up to $5,000 for pilot projects that are expected to lead to full research proposals.

Application Details: Seed funding proposals will be judged based on their potential to advance the objectives of the WCI and to secure support for the full proposal. The selection committee will be interdisciplinary and include university and community representatives.Applications for funding should consist of a 3-5 page proposal, plus bibliography. NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
