Description: |
The Ontario Research Fund ? Research Excellence (ORF-RE) provides research institutions with funding to support the operational costs of major projects of strategic value to the province.
The fund provides up to one third of the total value of a project, with the remaining two thirds coming from a combination of private sector and institutional contributions. ORF-RE Round 12 has two application streams:
Stream 1: General ? Basic and Applied Research. Open to all disciplines. Funds projects from $500,000 to $2,000,000.
Stream 2: Targeted ? Experimental Research Funds projects that demonstrate strong commercialization potential, where the innovation is at a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 3 or higher from $300,000 to $2,000,000 |

Full applications are due to the ministry on Wednesday September 27, 2023. If you are planning to apply to this round, we encourage you to contact Western Research as soon as possible.INDIRECT COSTS OF 40% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT BUDGET |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
