This program will reflect various targeted or special CIHR operating grants. This rapid response funding opportunity follows on from the recent Knowledge Synthesis Grant: COVID-19 Rapid Research Funding Opportunity in Mental Health and Substance Use, which sought to synthesize existing evidence on: the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of priority populations, the needs and responses of mental health and substance use services and delivery in the context of COVID-19, and the effectiveness or implementation of potential interventions.
This funding opportunity seeks to move further in the direction of implementation science and population-level intervention research to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and its containment measures on mental health and substance use. This rapid response operating grant funding aims to more explicitly address the specific mental health and/or substance use crisis response needs resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and/or the strategies to contain and mitigate its impact. |
