If the Chair?s salary exceeds this amount, all additional costs are to be borne by the host institution. If as a result of this Award, host-institution-controlled salary funds are freed up, then the host institution is required to reinvest this entire amount in the Chair Program by funding new graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and new investigators, to work under the mentorship of the Awarded Chair, so as to create a critical mass of researchers and research trainees in reproductive, child and youth health services and policy research at that institution. The institution is required to clearly stipulate that commitment in writing, both at the time of the application and at the time the Chair is awarded. The Institution must also indicate in writing that they will provide the successful Chair with the support they need, including at least 75% of working hours protected for research and research-related activities, i.e., a reduction of teaching, clinical, and administrative duties to a maximum of 25% time. ?Additional research, education, mentoring, travel and knowledge translation allowance: $85,000 per year.
