In general, team grants support expert teams of talented and experienced researchers carrying out high-quality research on important health issues best addressed through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. These teams provide superior research training and mentorship environments, and support the production of new knowledge and the translation of research findings into improved health and health care. This funding opportunity is expected to support Canadian participation on the NeuroNex program. The objectives of the NeuroNex program are:
The establishment of distributed, international research networks that build on existing global investments in neurotechnologies to address overarching questions in neuroscience
Fostering international cooperation by seeding close interactions between a wide array of organizations across the world
Creating links and articulating alliances between multiple recently launched international brain project |

Application Details: |
CIHR Team Grant proposals will be evaluated as a single, integrated entity. While each research component included in the application must be meritorious, it is critical to demonstrate that the CIHR Team Grant brings added value, in terms of the approach to improving the health of Canadians or strengthening the Canadian health care system. The application process for this funding opportunity is comprised of two steps:
Preliminary Proposal to NSF and Preliminary Proposal to CIHR, and
Full Application to NSF and Abbreviated Application to CIHR.
