Description:

In general, team grants support expert teams of talented and experienced researchers carrying out high-quality research on important health issues best addressed through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. These teams provide superior research training and mentorship environments, and support the production of new knowledge and the translation of research findings into improved health and health care.

CIHR and IDRC will support projects directly aligned with the scope of the GACD call ?Scaling-up of evidence-based interventions at the population level for the prevention or management of hypertension and/or diabetes?. Proposals must be for implementation research as defined by the GACD. The research must be conducted in lower or middle-income countries and/or with Indigenous populations in Canada. In order to facilitate international collaboration and the best implementation research, CIHR and IDRC will co-fund research projects with other GACD members. Please see the GACD website for further details on participating GACD members. In particular, applications that involve collaborations between Indigenous groups are encouraged.

Application Details: CIHR Team Grant proposals will be evaluated as a single, integrated entity. While each research component included in the application must be meritorious, it is critical to demonstrate that the CIHR Team Grant brings added value, in terms of the approach to improving the health of Canadians or strengthening the Canadian health care system.IDC RATE MAY CHANGE IF FUNDED BY IDRC NOT CIHR
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
