Description: |
Discovery Grants (DG) Program support ongoing programs of research (with long-term goals) rather than a single short-term project or collection of projects. These grants recognize the creativity and innovation that are at the heart of all research advances. Recipients of Discovery Grants (except Subatomic Physics [SAP] Project Grants) are not restricted to the specific activities described in the application, but may pursue new research interests, provided they are within NSERCs mandate. If you are applying for a renewal of your existing Discovery Grant, please choose the RENEWAL option for the ROLA proposal. Application Details: |
To apply for a Discovery Grant you must submit your NOI and the NSERC version of the Canadian Common CV (CCV) using the Research Portal. We encourage you to start completing your CCV early, as it can be time-consuming to populate the fields the first time.
Researchers can apply for and hold only one Discovery Grant at a time. Researchers who hold a Discovery Grant cannot reapply for another Discovery Grant until the last year of their current award. If you currently hold a team grant and wish to apply individually, consult NSERC. Application-Internal: Friday, October 21, 2022 by/before 2 p.m. Research Services deadline for submission of a ROLA proposal and a draft application & CCV (1 PDF file exported from the Research Portal) to researchoffice@uwo.ca ** Applications are administratively reviewed in the order they're received at researchoffice@uwo.ca.

NOTE: All research-related grant applications, letters of intent, contracts and agreements requiring an institutional or organizational signature must submit related documents to the Office of Research Services for review and approval. Requests for institutional signature should be received a minimum of five to ten business days before the
posted Sponsor deadline. Please see Western Research's website regarding the institutional signatory process for more details. Specific opportunities may have their own timelines and requirements for submissions. A ROLA Proposal submitted by the PI and bearing department and faculty approvals is required. |
