Description: |
Discovery Grants (DG) Program support ongoing programs of research (with long-term goals) rather than a single short-term project or collection of projects. These grants recognize the creativity and innovation that are at the heart of all research advances. Recipients of Discovery Grants (except Subatomic Physics [SAP] Project Grants) are not restricted to the specific activities described in the application, but may pursue new research interests, provided they are within NSERCs mandate. If you are applying for a renewal of your existing Discovery Grant, please choose the RENEWAL option for the ROLA proposal. Application Details: |
To apply for a Discovery Grant you must submit your NOI and the NSERC version of the Canadian Common CV (CCV) using the Research Portal. We encourage you to start completing your CCV early, as it can be time-consuming to populate the fields the first time.
Researchers can apply for and hold only one Discovery Grant at a time. Researchers who hold a Discovery Grant cannot reapply for another Discovery Grant until the last year of their current award. If you currently hold a team grant and wish to apply individually, consult NSERC.INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
