Description:

The R01 Grants supports a discrete, specified, circumscribed project to be performed in areas representing the specific interests & competencies of the investigator(s). The research plan must be related to the stated program interests of NIH.

This competition is valid for all NIH RFA's utilizing the RO1 Award Mechanism for 2023. Specific RFA's can be found on the NIH website at: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/index.html

Application Details:

Apply for Grant Electronically using Grants.gov. Applicants may submit more than one application, provided each application is scientifically distinct.

Application submission through Grants.gov involves several steps. Access the "Get Started" tab on the Grants.gov Web site (http://grants.gov). Some of the steps need only be done one time. Others are ongoing steps that will be necessary for each application submission. Before beginning the application process, you are encouraged to review Grants.gov and all the resources available there. All PD/PIs, and all individuals with a postdoctoral role (see definition of postdoctoral scholar in Part III.3 of Guidelines) and one month or more of measurable effort must also complete a one-time registration in the eRA Commons. Access to the Commons is vital for all steps in the process after application submission.

INDIRECT COSTS OF 8% MUST BE INLCLUDED IN PROPOSAL BUDGETS

NOTE: All research-related grant applications, letters of intent, contracts and agreements requiring an institutional or organizational signature must submit related documents to the Office of Research Services for review and approval. Requests for institutional signature should be received a minimum of five to ten business days before the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal submitted by the PI and bearing department and faculty approvals is required.
