The Climate Action and Awareness Fund is designed to support projects that can create middle class jobs for Canadians who work in science and technology, academia and at the grassroots community level. These projects are critical as we continue to build a sustainable net zero emissions economy by 2050.

The request for proposals for community-based climate action projects will provide knowledge, tools and/or skills that lead to or engage communities in climate action. This request for proposals will provide from $100,000 to $6 million to eligible organizations, for a total of up to $50 million over five years.

Application Details: Lead applicants are encouraged to partner with at least one other organization, such as a non-governmental organization, Indigenous organization, university and academic institution, small and medium-sized enterprise, and/or a provincial, territorial or municipal government. Please see the sponsor's website for full details.When ready to apply, project proposals are accepted through the Grants and Contributions Enterprise Management System (GCEMS).
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
