Description:

Crohn's and Colitis Canada's Grants-in-Aid of Research Program (GIA) is committed to supporting a range of research on inflammatory bowel disease. Funds are dedicated for the support of research which is conducted by qualified investigators with an appointment in not-for-profit research or academic facilities located in Canada. The guidelines are designed to help complete the GIA application form. Please read the guidelines carefully. Applications which do not conform to these guidelines and eligibility criteria will be returned without review.

Please review the grant guidelines carefully as changes have been introduced to the eligibility criteria for the 2021 grant competition, particularly in relation to total funds held, and support for ECRs.

Application Details:

Applications must be submitted through a two-stage application process. By the deadline specified, applicants must submit a Notice of Intent to Apply via proposalCENTRAL. The completed Notice of Intent to Apply are used by Crohn?s and Colitis Canada to identify suitable peer reviewers to review full applications, and to triage applications that are not Crohn?s and/or colitis related. Applicants who submit a Notice of Intent to Apply are invited to submit a Full Application by the deadline specified.

2021 Deadlines: Notices of Intent to Apply are due by 5 pm (EST) on Wednesday March 10, 2021 Full applications are due by 5 pm (EST) on Wednesday April 7, 2021 Applicants must complete the online applications available via the proposalCENTRAL website. Applications are not accepted via email or mail.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
