Description: |
The Indigenous Capacity and Leadership in Research (ICLR) Connection Grants will contribute to Indigenous leadership and self-determination in research. The events and activities funded represent opportunities to engage and exchange knowledge on successful ways of conducting Indigenous research that are transformative and contribute to Indigenous-led research, including wholistic and distinctions-based approaches. Proposals are intended to be wholistic, involving any discipline, thematic area, approach or subject area. This funding opportunity?s themes focus on areas where grants can contribute to growing the capacity and leadership of First Nations and M?tis communities to conduct research and partner with the broader research community. |

Application Details: |
All of the grants for this funding opportunity are reserved for First Nations or M?tis not-for-profit organizations, Indigenous not-for-profit organizations serving more than one distinction, or Indigenous postsecondary institutions. Individuals are eligible to be co-applicants if they are formally affiliated with a postsecondary institution. Applicants (project directors) must complete the application form in accordance with the accompanying Convergence Portal instructions.

NOTE: All research-related grant applications, letters of intent, contracts and agreements requiring an institutional or organizational signature must submit related documents to the Office of Research Services for review and approval. Requests for institutional signature should be received a minimum of five to ten business days before the
posted Sponsor deadline. Please see Western Research's website regarding the institutional signatory process for more details. Specific opportunities may have their own timelines and requirements for submissions. A ROLA Proposal submitted by the PI and bearing department and faculty approvals is required. |
