The New Investigator Operating Grant is a prestigious funding opportunity designed to help launch the careers of outstanding researchers who are entering their first phase of an academic appointment. The intent is to help the grantee establish his/her laboratory and generate enough preliminary data to support fully competitive research grant proposals in national and international funding competitions. Applicants must be within four years of their first academic appointment and in a recognised Canadian institution at the application deadline date, and documentation must be provided from the institution to show that the applicant has been appointed to a salaried position that will continue for the duration of the grant. |

Applications to the program must be submitted by November 6th, 2020 to ASC, using the online portal: https://asc.smapply.ca/INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT AN ELIGIBLE EXPENSE |
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
