Bicycle thefts have marked increase since July
Campus Police are warning the Western community to be extra vigilant due to an alarming increase in bike thefts. 60 bikes have been stolen since July1. 33 bikes have been taken in September alone, with 10 bikes stolen during the week of Sept. 20. Police have stepped up patrols and several arrests have already been made. The community's help is needed to combat this crime. The public are urged to telephone police immediately
if they observe any suspicious
activity at or near any bike racks. Bicycle owners are reminded to ensure their bikes are secured with a quality u-lock when left unattended. Registering your bike with Campus Police can help to identify it should it be stolen.
