Power & Global Health Day
Hosted by a planning committee composed of Western students, staff, researchers and faculty members from broad and diverse fields relating to global health, this annual event focuses on themes and discussions related to global health research.
The full program for the day will feature student poster presentations, a blog contest and workshop for students, faculty and staff.

Power and Global Health Day: Being a Good Relative and Allyship in Action Workshop
Thursday, November 23, 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Community Room, Weldon Library
Join us for this workshop on allyship in action, presented by Sisco, a London, Ontario-based consulting firm specializing in Indigenous community-based consulting.
This workshop will support Western faculty, staff and students in learning about how they can start a journey towards settler allyship or being a good relative.
Participants will:
- gain an understanding of Canada’s settler colonial history and ongoing context, anti-Indigenous institutional racism in post-secondary education, and the local Indigenous community context
- learn about the unsettling cycle and how to commit to this critical work to inform allyship and being a good relative in action at Western
- engage with applied techniques to help address systemic barriers through unsettling practices at Western

All are welcome to come to see Undergraduate and Graduate student posters created about their research and project work this year related to global health and equity.
