Western alumna, Allison Daley, MSc’06, was awarded the 2015 Jan Bergström Young Geoscientist Award from The Geological Society of Sweden
In 2013, Western Biology professor Irena Creed was selected by Umeå University as one of the institutions Female Guest Professorships.
In 2014, Dr. Creed coordinated an international graduate field school on algal blooms at Sweden’s Lake Torneträsk in partnership with Ann-Kristin Bergström of Umeå University
Western Science’s PhD candidate Anne Deininger, an aquatic ecologist, is currently conducting her PhD studies at Umeå University’s Department of Ecology and Environmental Science.
