How to use PDF documents
Throughout this website,
we have saved many of our documents and forms in a file format
referred to as a "pdf" which stands for "portable
document format". To open the documents you need to install
a free program from Adobe called Acrobat Reader. (You can download
the program from www.adobe.com)
The use of this file format ensures that the documents maintain
consistent formatting on screen and print properly no matter
what computer system is used.
In the case of a form,
the user is expected to print the form on their local printer,
enter the required information by hand and return it to the
appropriate department. An optional feature on some forms
is the ability to enter information into the various fields
on screen prior to printing the document. This ensures readability
of the data and will help avoid transposition errors.
NOTE: Information entered using this method cannot be saved
and will be lost when exiting the document. These forms
may also contain a "reset" button that clears all
information input so far, returning the user to a blank form.
