Thurs. Feb. 22, 1:00pm - 4:00pm
The Great Hall, Somerville House

This interactive group exercise provides participants a new understanding of Canada’s history and the relationship with Indigenous Peoples.  It examines the evolution of the relationship between the Indigenous peoples and Settlers while planting the seeds for truth and reconciliation to take place.

The Blanket Exercise has been conducted in communities across the country (including on Parliament Hill), and has inspired and moved people to a new appreciation of the past and a desire for a better future.  Participants find this to be a very powerful and memorable learning experience.

The exercise concludes with a debriefing session (a talking circle with an Elder), in which participants have the opportunity to discuss the experience as a group.
