BIPOC Student Support
For students who identify as members of BIPOC communities (Black, Indigenous, and Person of Colour) who are experiencing race-related stress and are seeking a safe space to talk, they can request to speak with counsellors who are themselves persons of these communities with lived experience. Please call 519 661-3030 to book an appointment.
This is a virtual support group for students who identify as racialized (Black, Indigenous, Person of Colour). This is a pilot wellness group that aims to create a safe and healing space to share lived experiences with race-related stress. Together in sharing our common lived experiences, we draw a collective voice to:
• not feel alone
• process and learn from each other's wisdom
• create a community to uplift and support one another
• empower through collective healing, growth, and transformation
This group will be co-facilitated by two psychotherapists from Health and Wellness who are themselves Persons of Colour. Group Facilitators: Rose Aquino and Ramona Fernandez.
Individuals interested can call 519 661-3030 to register. Please keep in mind that there is a cap on spots available, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible. Once signed-up, a group facilitator will contact you to do an individual intake. Please note that you are welcome to join throughout the term.
This group runs Tuesdays, starting January 26, 2021 from 1:30-3:00pm (via Zoom).
