Areas of Concentration

Courses in the Applied Health Sciences programs are grouped into three Areas of Concentration. Students must complete two courses in their chosen area of concentration.

Recognize the ways in which individual, familial and community well-being is shaped by social, cultural and environmental conditions. Understand how these factors intersect and influence how people are born, grow up, live, work and age.

Health Across the Lifespan

Health Across the Lifespan

Understand the influence of age on individual's health and well-being and how health-care systems can be optimized to meet the needs of people throughout their lifespan. Apply knowledge of the complex interactions of age, from early childhood to older adulthood, to improve health outcomes for individuals

Health Leadership: Toward Enhancing Health Services, Systems and Policy

Health Leadership

Demonstrate and encourage leadership in various health care settings and across institutions. Learners become better equipped to identify opportunity for growth, and adapt to and lead changes.
