Shoppers Drug Mart/Loblaws Rapid Testing

Western has partnered with Shoppers Drug Mart, and Loblaws grocery stores with pharmacies, to provide rapid testing at every London location.

At the current time, COVID-19 rapid antigen tests are required twice per seven-day period with each test separated by a minimum of 72-hours for individuals who are not fully vaccinated or those who have been granted an exemption for medical or creed/religious beliefs.

Employees are being encouraged to utilize this rapid testing service through Shoppers/Loblaws to help prioritize PCR testing capacity on-campus. Individuals requiring a COVID-19 PCR test are asked to book their appointment through the Western Vaccination and Testing Centre.

Book an Appointment for Rapid Testing Off-campus

Western has set up an appointment portal with Shoppers/Loblaws to book your appointments. The cost of the tests is covered by the University. You may find this user guide helpful in advance of booking your first test. Bookings cannot be made over the phone and no walk-ins will be accepted.

Students can continue to book their COVID-19 rapid antigen tests and COVID-19 PCR tests through the Western Vaccination and Testing Centre or for those students who need to do their rapid testing off campus, can book an appointment with Shoppers/Loblaws.

Users must enter the participation code emailed to you when registering. You will need to complete a Medical Consent form and a Pre-Screening Questionnaire as part of this process.

Test results will be available within 20 minutes. You can leave the pharmacy right after your swab or remain until the screening results are received, but you must not return to campus until the screening results are received. When your results are ready, you will receive an email with a private and secure link to access your results. You must also register and upload your test result with Western for each rapid test result.

Students and employees using Western’s Vaccination and Testing Centre for rapid testing will have their results uploaded automatically but must still register each rapid test into Western’s testing verification portal.

Students and employees using the Shoppers Drug Mart service consent to the university receiving their rapid test result, including preliminary positive screens. Individuals who receive a preliminary positive test result will need to inform the University and attend the Vaccination and Testing Centre (within the Graphic Services Building) for further testing immediately, so we can support you and ensure compliance with the University’s mandatory vaccination policy.
