Workshop Facilitator Renewal


In order to maintain your HSEP, TEP, GFAL or BALL facilitator certification, you must renew every year. There are two mandatory facilitator renewal criteria, and one recommended criterion.

Please download the PDF version of the checklist to keep track of your renewal progress offline, and submit this checklist to the CCAA along with your other renewal documents.

Facilitator Renewal Fee

Renewal fee is $25.00 + applicable tax for your province/territory. Updated certificates are released after payment of the renewal fee is received.

  • ON (13%): $28.25
  • BC/MB/SK/AB/QC/NT/NV/YT (5%): $26.25
  • PEI/NB/NS/NL (15%): $28.75

Credit Card

We accept Visa and MasterCard payments over the phone. On your Renewal Checklist, please check the box that reads “Please invoice me, and I will pay the invoice by phone with a credit card”. Please do not submit your credit card information over email, voicemail or fax for security reasons.

Deliver Training

Deliver a minimum of one workshop in your renewal year.

Optional Facilitator Renewal Requirements

Proof of Current CPR

Proof of adult level CPR is optional, first aid is also recommended, but not required for renewal.

Review the Facilitator Agreement

You may wish to review the letter agreement (the “Agreement”) confirmed the terms and conditions of your contract with the CCAA when you took your training.

You can download, print and sign the trainer/facilitator agreement signature page each year, but this step is not required for renewal.


This item is not required to complete the renewal process but it is highly recommended that all CCAA trainers are covered by an insurance policy, either through their employer or as an independent contractor.

Note: Please allow a minimum of 5 business days to process certifications and renewals.

Other Important Renewal Information


How do I complete the online portion of my renewal?

  1. Login to your CCAA facilitator account
  2. Click the Renewal option
  3. Check off each renewal requirement as you complete it
  4. Submit your renewal once all requirements are met
  5. Mail proof of completed renewal requirments to the CCAA to review and approve

Do I have to renew?

Yes. The CCAA will not ship training materials and manuals to you to support your training courses unless your facilitator certification is up to date.

Volunteer Facilitators

Check with your employer or volunteer agency. Organizations recruiting and training volunteer facilitators are eligible for the “Volunteer Agency License” which is subject to special guidelines. However, there is no renewal fee reduction for volunteer agencies. Please contact the Certification Coordinator for more information.
