COVID-19 Update for Leadership Training Participants
Leadership Course Pause
With the current decline in centre activity, created largely by COVID-19 restrictions, we identified this as an opportunity to re-examine the CCAA’s current operations and focus to ensure we are meeting our vision and mission mandates.
For these reasons, the CCAA will be putting a pause on all new leadership course offerings until the fall 2021. During this time, staff will be renewing content, course offerings and developing new delivery platforms and strategies to enhance participants’ experiences. Our goal is to ensure that we continue to offer the most up-to-date learning opportunities in engaging and meaningful ways.
Certifications and recertifications
The CCAA is now accepting certifications and renewals for Seniors' Fitness Instructors. Deadlines for instructor certification and renewal that occurred after 31st March 2021 are extended until 31st January 2022. All certification and renewal requirements must be submitted to the CCAA prior to the extension deadline (31st January 2022).
Future renewal dates remain unchanged. For example, an SFIC instructor who had a certification expiry date of 30th June 2021 and submitted renewal requirements before 31st January 2022 will be required to renew again on the 30th June 2023.
You can learn more about completing your renewal or certification online on the MyCCAA User Accounts FAQ page. Visit the COVID Certification & Renewal Equivalencies page to see how you can meet instructor certification or renewal requirements during the pandemic.
