The Criminal Humanities: A New Book Series

criminal humanities

The Department of Writing Studies is pleased to announce that Professor Michael Arntfield is the founder, director, and editor a new interdisciplinary and cross-institutional book series, in collaboration with Professor Marcel Danesi at the University of Toronto, focusing on forensic semiotics and the criminal humanities. A new scholarly book series as well as a new area of scholarship, both in name and in thematic focus, it describes the study of the criminal mind, criminal investigative procedure, penology, victimology, jurisprudence, deviance, and the epistemology of justice through the lens of the humanities, focusing specifically on text and narrative as broadly defined. Headquartered at Peter Lang Publishing's New York division, the series is now accepting submissions for monographs, academic anthologies, and both edited and critical editions. You've no doubt heard of the digital humanities, medical humanities, and public humanities, but this is something else entirely.
