The graduate programs in Women's Studies and Feminist Research will engage students in using interdisciplinary, feminist methodologies to examine the ways in which gender interacts with race, age, class, ability/disability and sexual orientation.
Students will analyse gender systems across histories, cultures and disciplines. For both course and research work students will be able to draw on Faculty expertise in areas such as: feminist theory and history; representation, the arts and visual culture; transnational feminisms; sexuality, health and the body; equity, and policy and practice. Western's graduate programs in Women's Studies and Feminist Research will focus attention on the history and methods of feminist scholarship, and will prepare students both for the workforce and for further academic pursuits.
