Research
I've been teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses on the history of sexuality, intersectionality, and on current trends in queer theory. My background is originally in Comparative Literature, so literature continues to play an important role in how I think about theory in terms of my teaching. I also see teaching and research as integral to each other and as mutually enhancing. My current research looks at how legal discourse in the nineteenth century dealt with the notion of deviant female sexuality when, in fact, women were not technically subject to 'sodomy' laws.
