Gilliam was selected for her contributions to two non-profit organizations in the London community. In 2009, she joined the Board of Leads Employment Services, an agency that implements government-funded programs to provide employment assistance to people with physical, mental, development and/or learning disabilities. Since becoming a member of the board, she has served as treasurer, vice-president and, currently, board chair. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for The London Arts Council, which facilitates funding, venues and artistic talent across the arts spectrum for London and the surrounding area. She currently serves on the Arts Council Board in the role of treasurer.
A member of the Canadian College and University Food Services Association since 1992, Miller – known across higher education as the ‘food guy’ – is frequently sought after to conduct reviews that focus on food service in both postsecondary and health-care environments. He was a recipient of the Gord G. Mann Distinguished Service Award in 2002 for his contributions and leadership provided to the food industry and a recipient of the Fellow of the Institute for 2015 by the Ontario Hostelry Institute for his countless contributions to the hospitality and tourism industry.
