First Time Applicants
First Time applicants to the University and prospective students not currently attending Western must first make normal application to The University of Western Ontario through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (www.ouac.on.ca). The BFA program is clearly distinguished on the OUAC application form under the code EAV - Visual Arts Studio. Students should then follow the Visual Arts web link on the OUAC form to go directly to the Department of Visual Arts website (www.uwo.ca/visarts/bfa/howtoapply.html) to download the Visual Arts portfolio application forms and obtain specifics regarding the portfolio requirements, evaluation criteria, and timelines.
Prospective students will also send a BFA Program Application Form directly to the Department of Visual Arts at Western indicating their choice to submit a digital portfolio or to present their portfolio, including original work, in person to studio faculty members in a scheduled interview session.
Prospective students who apply to the “BFA - Studio Arts” program on the OUAC website are strongly advised to also apply to the “Arts and Humanities with Subject of Major Interest Visual Arts” program.
Prospective Students submitting a Digital Portfolio will also submit:
These forms can be found above under “Required Forms for BFA Program”
Prospective Students requesting a Portfolio Interview will also submit:
