Western is a complex organization with multiple
identities and voices, which sometimes hinders our ability to communicate the
impact of the university as a whole. Establishing a more unified visual
identity for Western will strengthen our ability to gain greater recognition as
a world-class institution that makes an impact both at home and abroad. Does
this mean we’re getting rid of the “tower” logo? We will need to first determine if the tower logo represents the University accurately - both now and what we aspire for it to become. And if so, does the format need to change or be updated so it is easier to work with in various formats? However, if the tower logo is not representing Western effectively, we will need to develop a visual representation that does a better job representing Western. I
have ideas – how do I share them? That’s great! There are many ways to join the conversation. You
can participate in our online questionnaire or join the discussion on our
online forum, our Facebook page or our Twitter feed. You may also contact us

519-661-2111 ext 85106 How
would a new visual identity be implemented? In the new year, the new visual identity will be
introduced to our campus community and stakeholders. This new identity will be rolled-out over
the next 12 months as new communication materials are produced, such as our
website, stationary and collateral materials. Who
is doing the design work for the project?
Through a competitive process, we have contracted
the services of Hahn Smith Design, a communications and design firm, to help develop
the identity and messaging that tells the Western story in a consistent and
cohesive manner. About The Project - FAQS
