Information & Privacy

cyber privacy

Western University is committed to the requirements of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), including access to information.

Western's Privacy Office is currently working full-time on Campus, and happy to assist with your questions and needs. The University remains committed to supporting access under FIPPA as efficiently and effectively as possible. However, please note that if the public health situation evolves, we may need to return to a remote working situation for health and safety reasons, which may impact our ability to assist.

At this time, Freedom of Information requests may be submitted via courier or by mail. You are also welcome to drop them off in person at our Office location. Please visit our Access to Information page to obtain a copy of the Request Form.

For expediency, please ensure that the $5 request fee accompanies your request form. Payment may be made via cash or cheque (payable to: The University of Western Ontario), and can be sent by mail, courier, or dropped off in person. Please note that we are not set up at this time to receive the request fee via e-transfer or wire payment, and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We encourage you to contact us at privacy.office@uwo.ca to discuss these details as they pertain to your particular request.
