REPORT OF THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE

FOR ACTION

1. Selection Committee for Provost & Vice-President (Academic)

In accordance with Section F of Appointments Procedures, a selection committee for Provost & Vice-President (Academic) shall consist of:

(a) The President & Vice-Chancellor, who shall be Chair
(b) A Vice-President, Dean, or member of Faculty appointed by the President & Vice-Chancellor
(c) 5 persons elected by the Senate, one of whom shall be a student, and only one of whom may be a Dean.
(d) 1 person elected by the Board of Governors

Required: Five persons, one of whom is a student, and not more than one of whom may be a Dean

2. Selection Committee for Dean of Engineering Science

In accordance with Appointments Procedures, Section L (Deans of Faculties other than Graduate Studies), a selection committee for the Dean of Engineering Science shall consist of:

(a) The Provost & Vice-President (Academic), who shall be Chair
(b) The Vice-President (Research)
(c) 5 persons elected by the Council of the Faculty concerned
(d) 3 persons elected by Senate who are not faculty, staff or students of the Faculty concerned, and only one of whom may be a Dean

Required: Three persons who are not faculty, staff or students of the Faculty of Engineering Science, only one of whom may be a Dean.

3. Selection Committee for Dean of Music

In accordance with Appointments Procedures, Section L (Deans of Faculties other than Graduate Studies), a selection committee for the Dean of Music shall consist of:

(a) The Provost & Vice-President (Academic), who shall be Chair
(b) The Vice-President (Research)
(c) 5 persons elected by the Council of the Faculty concerned
(d) 3 persons elected by Senate who are not faculty, staff or students of the Faculty concerned, and only one of whom may be a Dean

Required: Three persons who are not faculty, staff or students of the Faculty of Music, only one of whom may be a Dean.

4. Operations/Agenda Committee

Composition: Nine current members of Senate, at least one of whom shall be a student. The Vice-Chair of Senate is the Chair ex officio of this Committee.

Continuing to November 1999: A. Prabhakar (Student), D. Taub (Student), P. Deane (Arts),
K. McQuillan (Soc.Sci.)

Continuing to November 2000: C. Callaghan (Staff), D. Jorgensen (Soc.Sci.), J. Nicholas
(Arts), K. Okruhlik (Arts), D. Rosner (Sci.).

Required: One member of Senate to serve as an alternate to D. Jorgensen who has asked for a Leave of Absence (January to April 1999).
