REPORT OF THE PROPERTY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

FOR APPROVAL

Board members are asked to bring to the meeting the following documents that were sent to them in mid-April (members of P&F received these as part of Exhibit I for the April 30 P&F meeting):

1.Operating and Capital Budgets, Tuition and Fees

Recommended: That the Board of Governors approve:

Supplemental Fees and Other Charges, shown on the last 2 pages of Annex 2 are approved by the President throughout the year, as authorized under the Student Fee Policy (Policy 2.4). 2. Student Fee Funded Units, Ancillaries, and Academic Support Units

Recommended: That the 2001-02 budgets for Student Fee Funded Units, Ancillaries, and Academic Support Units, and related Activity Fee Rates be approved as summarized in Annex 3 (including revised Table 2, attached).

Annex 3 reflects recommendations from the Student Services Committee with respect to Non-Tuition-Related Ancillary Fees which fall under the Student Services Committee Protocol and the recommendations of the University Students' Council (USC) and the Society of Graduate Students (SOGS), as endorsed by the Campus & Community Affairs Committee (see CCAC report, Appendix IV, for this meeting).

The revised Activity Fee and Student Health Plan fee requested by the MBA Association are not recommended by the Property & Finance Committee because the MBAA did not provide the supportive documentation required in the Student Fees Policy (Policy 2.4). [See the explanation in the Report of the CCAC, Appendix IV, page 6, for this Board meeting.] The fees for MBA students shown in the revised Table 2 for Annex 3 are at the 2000-01 levels.
