
The Board of Governors is responsible for the overall management of the university, including financial matters. The Board appoints the President and Vice-Chancellor (in consultation with the Senate), Vice-Presidents, directors and senior administrators of the University. The Board establishes and enforces regulations for the use of its buildings, grounds and ancillary operations, and for the orderly conduct of persons entering upon the lands and premises of the University. It also regulates the tuition fees paid for any program or course, expend funds for the maintenance of existing buildings or build new buildings or facilities.
The
Board of Governors will hold elections during February 2013 to elect members in
accordance with the provisions of The University of Western Ontario Act
(1982). For this election the following
members are required: one administrative
staff (from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2017) one
undergraduate student (from July 1, 2013 to June 30,
2015) Nominations
open at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 and close at 5:00 p.m.
on Thursday, January 24, 2013. The names of nominees will be posted on
the election website on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Board Elections
