Current Shop Rates 2011 - 2012

Effective May 1, 2011 - April 30, 2012

 

University Machine Services (UMS) develops hourly charge-out rates from supporting historical data and the extrapolation of forward revenues and expenses. The number of billable hours is divided by the total of all shop expenses with the intent of providing services internally at cost. Any surplus is used for operational and faculty improvements.

Charges and estimates are calculated hourly as follows including overhead and all support equipment not listed. The shop’s hourly charge-out rates will be the following:

Engineering - Research - Instructional and Operating Rate

Manufacturing technicians including all conventional equipment:

Engineering and Project Management:
$ 64.90


Contract and External Basic Rate (including all non-Engineering related research)
