Communication in the Canadian Classroom

Effective communication is an essential element of good teaching and learning, good research, and success in a university environment. Join us for a 12-hour seminar series, and learn to communicate with greater confidence in the Canadian academic environment.

In Communication in the Canadian Classroom, you will:

  • learn to communicate effectively and confidently with Canadian students;
  • develop essential skills for communicating effectively in a new culture;
  • acquire an ability to express your ideas concisely; and
  • understand how to participate effectively in a Canadian classroom.

Workshop activities include discussions of cultural differences in the classroom, role plays involving giving feedback to students; and opportunities to express your ideas concisely. You will develop your English communication skills in a supportive atmosphere among graduate students from a variety of disciplines and cultures.
