Community Service Learning Award

The purpose of the Community Service Learning Award is to encourage faculty to design a new course or enhance an existing course using a Community Service Learning (CSL) framework. This aligns with Western’s commitment to innovative, high quality undergraduate and graduate education. Community Service Learning courses can take many forms, including:

  • Individual student placements with local community organizations
  • Group projects with local community organizations
  • Community - based research projects
  • International learning opportunities

Awarded by Community Service Learning @ Western within The Student Success Centre, the Community Service Learning (CSL) Award aims to support faculty in creating opportunities for students to connect academic course content with meaningful community service that contributes to student learning, and local and international community development.
