Workshop on Scholarship Applications and Professional Matters

The professionalization seminars are geared towards helping students prepare for an academic career. Seminars are open to all students, but aimed primarily at PhD students. Sessions include a series of Workshops on Scholarship Applications and Professional Matters. All Theory Centre students are strongly encouraged to attend these workshops, which meet during the Fall and Winter terms.

In September and October, students applying for external scholarships will receive close supervision and assistance from experienced faculty members in developing their applications. In the following sessions, faculty members will provide students with guidance about practical and professional matters such as preparing for the qualifying examinations, applying for jobs, preparing a curriculum vitae, drafting paper proposals for conferences, writing scholarly articles for publication, etc.
