Course Description
9570 - Narrative Theory across the Disciplines - This course will look at narrative theory as a discursive construct and investigate some of the ways in which it can be used in an examination of various kinds of texts and the claims for knowledge made by these texts and the disciplines that they serve. I plan to deal primarily with narrative theory in history and law, but I would be willing to explore other disciplinary formations instead–philosophy, feminism, visual arts, psychoanalysis, political science, anthropology, cognitive science, etc.–if members of the class so desire.
