Welcome to the website of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Western University. Our Division, founded in 1959 by
Dr. Robert McFarlane
, is dedicated to the provision of excellence in patient care as well as providing a superb educational experience for our medical students, residents and fellows. We service a population base of 1.5 million people stretching over all of Southwestern Ontario. The Division possesses subspecialty expertise in hand surgery, reconstructive microsurgery, breast surgery, adult and paediatric craniofacial surgery, burn care, peripheral nerve surgery, aesthetic surgery, wound healing, and cutaneous malignancies. News and Events

The Division's annual Resident Research Day is scheduled this year for Friday, May 15th with Dr. Carolyn Levis from McMaster University as Visiting Professor. Contact Mindy Minka for more information.

The Divison welcomes Dr. Aaron Grant, a recent graduate of the Western University residency program, to the faculty. Dr. Grant just completed a reconstructive microsurgery fellowship in Winnipeg and will be joining the team at LHSC - University Hospital. His practice will focus on microsurgery, breast reconstruction and melanoma.

We are also pleased to welcome Dr. Chris Doherty to St. Joseph's Health Care London. Recently graduating from the University of Calgary residency program, Dr. Doherty completed his fellowship in London at the Roth | McFarlane Hand & Upper Limb Centre at St. Joseph's. Welcome, Dr. Doherty!

The MSc in Surgery degree program formulated by the Graduate Program Committee in the Department of Surgery is now an official program of Western University!

A Breast Fellowship is being offered through LHSC's London Regional Cancer Centre and St. Joseph's Health Care. For more details please click here.

A breast reconstruction website has recently been created and contains the largest database of breast reconstruction surgeons in Canada. Dr. Haemi Lee, a recent alumnus at Western, is the Lead Investigator for the Collaboration Team.
