SSW hosts a one-day workshop on green-engineering of polymer surfaces & devices

Time: February 5 (Friday), 2010
Venue: Rm 123, P&A Building, UWO, London, Ontario

Since late 2007, Professors Leo Lau, Jun Yang, Beth Gillies and H.Y. Nie have collaborated with researchers of LANXESS on developing new green chemistry and engineering methods for the fabrication of high-value-added polymer surface and devices, with funding supports from OCE, LANXESS and NSERC. In this workshop, the team will give an overview of these works, together with talks and posters in the Research Showcase Event of UWO. Several invited speakers, including Professor David Graves from UC Berkeley, Dr. Dolf Landheer from the Institute of Microstructural Sciences (NRC), Professor Tricia Carmichael from U of Windsor, and Professors John de Bruyn and Liying Jiang from UWO, are active in research relevant to these works of the LANXESS-UWO team. They will review their relevant activities in this workshop which is also a forum for planning future research collaboration. The participation of Professor Graves in this workshop is sponsored by the Canada-California Strategic Innovation Partnership Program.
