Membership in the Grad Club is open to all full-time and part-time graduate students who pay membership fees to the Society of Graduate Students (SOGS). (This does not include graduate students enrolled in the Richard Ivey School of Business MBA Program.)
All members of UWOFA are also Grad Club members. Associate Memberships may
be purchased by UWO Staff, Postdoctoral Fellows and by students
enrolled in UWO Professional Schools. Associate memberships may also
be purchased by part-time and mature undergraduates (i.e., over the
age of 21). Members may bring up to two non-members as their guests into the facility. Proof of membership includes:
- Student card with a valid SOGS issued bus pass
- UWOFA membership card
- An Associate Membership card from the Grad Club
Graduate students from other universities are honorary members, and certain other visitors (for example, individuals attending conferences at UWO) may be made temporary members at the discretion of the Grad Club management.
Those who are members of the Grad Club, with ID, receive 5% off food purchases upon request. In addition, if you are a Grad Student or Grad Club Associate Member you are entitled, subject to availability, to reserve space for the non-exclusive use of a portion of the Grad Club. Due to demand the Grad Club does not allow for the reservation of space Fridays from 4PM to 8PM.
Members have access to other benefits, such as the use of the Goblet of Knowledge to celebrate thesis/dissertation defences.
Undergrads are welcome to enjoy our facilities, but are not to use the Grad Club as a study hall. In addition undergraduates are asked not to bother their TA or Professor at the Grad Club. You may be denied entry or asked to leave the Grad Club during peak hours at the request of the management. Our primary goal is service to our members.
