Occasionally the SOGS Speaker or Chief Returning Officer (CRO) is required to make rulings that affect the Society. Speaker rulings are designed to clarify disputes over the interpretation of the Constitution and By-Laws, while CRO rulings are occasionally required to rule on the validity of nominations, campaign impropriety and election validity.

As of 2009, Speaker and CRO rulings are now available online. These rulings along with meeting minutes for the Election Appeals Board (EAB) are listed below.
