Spring is here…

…which means that another group of 3rd year Science students are about to embark on an 8-16 month internship placement. This year’s students were the first group to participate in Science 390y: Internship Planning, Practicum & Prospects. For more information about this course, please see the article from the December 2003 edition of Science Flashpoint . A variety of workshops were presented, with the generous assistance of facilitators from the Office of Industry Liaison (OIL) as well as the Student Development Centre’s Career Services and Effective Writing Program. Student feedback has been very positive about the preparation they have received, and several students have expressed that they feel more comfortable about entering the workplace.

We extend our best wishes to students embarking on an internship over the next few months, and also offer our Congratulations on a job well done to those interns who are returning back to school in September 2004.
