Accreditation streamlines professional path for actuarial students at Western
Western's Actuarial Science program was recently accredited by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Western is one of eight Canadian universities to obtain accreditation under the Institute's new program which enables students of these universities to receive exemptions from some of the professional examinations leading to the Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries designation. This accreditation recognizes Western as one of the leaders in actuarial education in Canada.
Certain actuarial courses taken during the fall of 2012 and later will be count toward eligibility for exam exemption. Students will be required to attain a specified minimum mark in each course.
