Hats off to this year’s winner of the Faculty of Science Outreach Award, Dr Gordon Osinski

Congratulations to Gordon Osinski, Associate Professor & NSERC/MDA/CSA/CEMI Industrial Research Chair in Earth and Space Exploration from the Department of Earth Sciences, who was recently presented with the 2017 Faculty of Science Outreach Award.

Osinski was recognized for his pivotal role in the creation of the Space Camp, which offers youth from 8-12 years of age engaging exploration experiences all summer long. Each week up to 25 campers engage in hands-on activities, daily projects and demonstrations highlighting space focused topics in the fields of astronomy, biology, engineering, geography, and geology. In addition, Osinski has incorporated outreach into numerous projects including the NSERC funded CanMars Analogue Missions that occurred in 2015 and 2016 and the creation of the iMars website which allows for interactive mapping of mars online.
